Marayoor - Chinnar- Thoovanam
Marayoor is the only place in Kerala that has a natural growth of sandalwood trees. The sandalwood factory of the forest department, Muniyaras with murals and relics from the New Stone age civilization and the children's Park spread across a hectare of land under the canopy of a single Banyan tree ๐ฒ are of greate interest to tourist. Thoovanam Water fall and Rajeev Gandhi National park are also nearby. Thoovanam falls is an excellent place to enjoy the beauty of nature. This waterfall originates from the river pambar and flows through the Chinnar Wild life Sanctuary attracting a lot of nature lovers and trekking enthusiasts. The trekking trail to Thoovanam falls begins at the alampatty Forest station. The trek to the waterfall is a wonderful experience for people who enjoy Wild life as one gets to see wild animals like langurs, elephant, giant Malabar squirrel and a variety of rare flora. Thoovanam falls can be visited at any time of the year, but the sight of the falls right after monsoon is a treat
